Give each sample a reference
Assign a unique reference before photographing or repacking. Record the supplier, product link, variant, date received and any visible damage. Keep packaging references alongside the item so a later question can be traced to the right sample.
Compare the same attributes
Write the dimensions, material claims, finish, colour and required function before comparing. Separate observed facts from supplier descriptions and tests not performed. Visual checks do not establish composition or product safety.
Agree the shot list and handling
Choose overview, detail and measurement views. State whether opening packaging, assembly or powered checks are permitted. Agree which samples to keep, return or consolidate and who pays the freight before any dispatch.
Close with decisions, not just photos
Use a comparison sheet to identify the preferred version and unresolved questions. Approving a sample is separate from approving mass production. If another sample is requested, retain the previous version and record what changed.
